A Little History on the Movie “Flashdance“
Flashdance was a hit move in 1983, and it’s soundtrack was the source of some of the 80s biggest musical hits, “Maniac” (shown above) which was performed by Michael Sembellow, and the theme song written for the movie, “What A Feeling”, which was performed by Irene Cara. What A Feeling one the Academy Award for Best Song!
This was the first movie for the pair of producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson. They went on to produce other smash hit movies, such as “Top Gun“.
Flashdance was originally panned by critics, but of course, what do critics know. At the box office Flashdance was a hit, and it ended the year at Number 3 for highest grossing films.
